The students of Walden School have done themselves proud again this year with a fine set of A Level results. Most students achieved top grades, with 54% achieving A*-B grades and 22% achieving A*/A. The overall pass rate A* – E, was 99%, and 75% gained A* – C grades. Most of the cohort will move on to their first choice of university and 25% of the students had received unconditional offers from their first choices, which is excellent. The top grades were spread across a range of subjects, including English Literature, Art, Geography, History, Mathematics and Music. Additionally, four students successfully completed the EPQ in a variety of topic areas and presentations.

Head, Anna Chaudhri, said, ‘Yet again our A Level students have produced a strong and consistent set of results, testament to the hard work they have put in and to the dedication of their excellent teachers.’

Hannah Irwin who was thrilled with her A* in English was accepted into Surrey University to read English with Creative Writing. She said, “I’m so happy I have been accepted into my first choice university and have got an A* in the subject I intend to take further. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of the wonderful teachers here at the school.”

Miles Burgess who achieved an A in both Geography and History plans to read Politics and Economics at Reading next year. His unconditional offer from Reading was based on his GCSEs and personal statement but Miles says, “I am thrilled with my results, it is always nice to do well when you have spent two years working really hard! I really enjoyed the Sixth Form here. My teachers were so encouraging and believed that I would do well.”
